About the Artist: Rande Cook
A hereditary chief of the Ma’amtagila people, Rande Cook is a multimedia artist and MFA graduate whose work spans carving, jewelry, painting, and glass. Raised in Alert Bay, B.C., Cook studied under master carvers and brings over 25 years of experience blending traditional Northwest Coast art with modern form. His pieces challenge and expand the understanding of Indigenous expression in contemporary spaces.
